Painting with watery colours is a technique I have used a lot in my textile works. At school we used the same dye for drawing sketches on paper. Paper and cotton have a lot in common. It was during a busy period before an exhibition I rediscovered the aquarelle technique: I poured some liquid dye on a paper, tilted the drawing board to the right angel, led the dye down along a defined area of the paper and collected the surplus liquid at the bottom with a paintbrush. For a single exhibition in the Art Centre in Førde, I made a wall installation from «Aquarelle exercises».
Technique/material: Canson aquarelle paper, Pemazol fibre reactive dye, water, a variety of picture frames. Now they are independent works and will occasionally participate in other exhibitions.
Measures: 40×30 cm
